“I am happy with this program and would reccomend it to other students who are looking to have a better accent.” (Hiep Pham- Social Security Administration)
“The owner lives and breathes this company. I can attest to her zest for the business. Most striking is her non-condescending attitude. Not only does she treat all her clients with respect and equality; but more importantly, she sees hope and promise in these individuals. Also, this is a woman-owned business, which is highly in vogue right now.
The organization of the business in general speaks volumes to its operating efficiencies, yet it does not skimp on quality. Appointments are always on time and the core focus is always on the individual and their improvement/ progress.
English can be a no-rhyme-or-reason language with quirks and usage rules that often do not have a simple formal explanation. Take this cross-disciplinary example: memorizing a formula does not require a long-winded explanation on how to derive the calculus because that strays from the main task at hand. Learning takes time, constant exposure and relentless practice. Any dedicated student would understand it takes all this and more to master a skill in any field.
I highly recommend USAC for your cultural immersion, english improvement, and assimilation coaching needs.”
“Ms. Howard has been helping me improve my English skills and their class is designed for my problematic areas. Thus, , I am able to work on my weaknesses intensively. I have improved my accent, grammar and email writings and think the best part of this program is their integrated, tailored and flexible classes and Accent reduction program.” (>Saeko Chichibu)
“I went to 3 schools in DC area before attending USAC for Accent Reduction. I did not feel comfortable in the other programs. The teacher I had was very friendly and gave lots of feedback. She was also interesting and I love my speech now.” (Miyung Jahng)
“This was a wonderful course. The classes were fun, and very easy to understand. We were given tons of resources to help better our understanding and reduce the accent as well as improve our cultural understanding. I will recommend this course to all future colleagues and friends.” (Mai Akamine)
“They were flexible with pricing, knowing that I had a budget and couldn’t spend tomuch, worked with me from day one. I started with their accent class but now working on speech and writing. My coach Linda is so knowledgeable, recommend her!” (Mi-hi Kim)
“USAC has helped me improve my accent tremendously. I feel more confident when I speak and when I pronounce even the most difficult English words. They also taught me a lot about American business culture which has helped me to retain my employees and customers which has helped my business substantially. I also think going out in DC and learning American culture in a ‘hands-on’ way gave me a much a better grasp of American culture and business practices.” (Ophelia Zhao)
“I thought the ESL training was fantastic. I could have listened all day. This was one of the most valuable training sessions I have had. USAC really helped me learn American Culture. Thank you!”(Abul Cour)
“USAC was very helpful with my transition to the American way of life from India. I was overwhelmed when I first arrived here with no one to turn to. I felt uncomfortable in a strange culture. My consultant was able to answer my questions and teach me how to interpret American ways. She was also able to help me perfect my communication and social skills both in person and through email. I found their services to be exactly what I needed and I still meet with my consultant as new issues arise. My consultant is an understanding person who I can trust and who is able to help with the difficulties I face adapting to the American culture.” (Rajit Dasan)
“USAC was so helpful and interesting; learned lots of new things; encouraged me to do some reading to further enhance my understanding of American culture and gave me all the tools I needed to improve my accent.” ( Adolfo Rodriguez)
“I really enjoyed every session that I had with my coach, she really helped me to learn something new. They also showed me how to be more confident in American Culture. When I first arrived in the US my speech and accent was horrible. I now feel much more comfortable with the new environment. I also have a lot of American friends now and can talk without having to be nervous of my speech. Jessica is the best American Teacher!” (Avatar Kumar)
“The training program was exactly what we had wanted. Our coach did an excellent job and really understood Spanish culture. Each session was full of new information and helped us to understand our own cultural differences as well as provided us with useful tools to help us be more effective at work and with other Americans.” (Sofia Gonzalez)
“Thank you Jessica for understanding my culture and listening to my needs so carefully. “ ( Durai Maharaj)
“My husband and I have worked with Jessica for a little while now. Jessica Howard is always on time and reliable. She has helped our son improve his English in ways we did not think imaginable. He doesn’t get confused when speaking Spanish and English anymore. The method Jessica used to teach him was extremely beneficial. He enjoyed every second of it. We will be continuing to use Jessica for her knowledge. She has also helped us maintain our family values and culture which was a problem we were having before she came.”( Kemal Hagia)
I cannot recommend USAC highly enough. I studied there for two weeks this past August (and wish I could have stayed for much longer!). I spent quite a lot of time deciding where I would stay, and am quite happy I landed at UAC. It was not easy but the coaches I worked with made it a fun experience. I defiantly recommend this program if your trying to fine something specific to your needs. A lot of the classes were taught visually so if you are that kind of learner this is a good place. Also, it is very hard at first so don’t get confused or give up because it will all start to make sense if you study and ask questions. I took this course with a friend, and my friend caught on a lot quicker then I did. The program is worth it if you put the time in and let them know you are willing to work hard. (Phema Apperatti)
I am very happy with my accent and the way I sound so much confident. It is hard to schedule with Jessica but she is the best with the accent and I have tried other programs. This program can be hard and unless you practice and take it seriously then I wouldn’t take it. If you want a teacher who truly cares and goes overboad to help you in many areas if you ask then she is the one teacher I found to do that. I have 6 friends who also went through accent reduction and not only improved their writing but over all speech. If you are looking for different techniques and someone who is going to work with you until you get it then I promise you this is a good program. I am sure that one of my 6 friends can attest to this as well.
